A note to my past self
with the good, the bad, and the ugly of living as a channel
Dear Cara,
If you say yes to Aurora’s invitation to be a verbal channel — (and yes, I know you’re scared, and yes, you’ll do it anyway)
here’s what I wish you’d known.
I know you’re not scared of channeling itself. You’ve always been scared of losing your mind.
You won’t.
Channeling will actually make you more grounded, not less. It will help you land gently and powerful in physical reality. It will help you heal your trauma and be the most embodying thing you do.
You’ll swing from feeling proud to feeling weird.
You’ll channel verbally, through writing, art, and song. Once you start, you’ll probably do all of them.
The first time you channel a song, it will surprise the hell out of you. The whole thing will land in minutes — the words, the tune, the meaning. You’ll grab the piano and find the notes you were already hearing in your head.
The first verbal reading will feel like stepping off a cliff — and then the guides will take over. It will be the wildest, most beautiful ride of your life.
You’ll stop worrying they won’t show up after about a hundred sessions 😉
You’ll channel on a beach, on the kitchen floor, in a moving car, in restaurants. People will just think you’re talking with your eyes closed.
You will feel weird. You won’t care. Then you’ll really care.
You’ll want to be normal. Then you’ll run from anything that tries to normalise you.
You’ll start hearing messages for the collective.
People will gravitate towards you. People will be fascinated by what you do.
You won’t want to do it sometimes. But when you do they will make you laugh so much. They’ll teach you not to take life so seriously.
It will be hardest to channel for yourself. That’s when you’ll be most afraid you’re making it up.
You’ll want to channel all the time.
You’ll start seeing auras more and more.
At one point you’ll feel so open you’ll describe yourself as “a corridor for the non-physical”.
You’ll also learn — thank god — how to close that shit down and tell them you are not available at 3am.
(It’s a skill. Learn it early.)
You’ll grieve when you shift from partnering with Aurora to working with The Ancients. That grief will surprise you.
Later, you’ll look back and see how precise the timing was — how perfectly that transition matched your own growth, your changing desires, needs and preferences. You’ll see that your channeling grew with you.
It can become something you hide in from life and the so-called real world. You’ll need to watch that.
People will take advantage and expect you to do it for free because it’s “spiritual”.
They won’t understand that it’s a skill that takes time, practice, and dedication.
You’ll need feedback and encouragement from people who’ve walked this path. You’ll be shocked by how empowering that is.
You’ll learn your own channeling language — what colours mean, how your guides communicate, whether they heal as well as speak, whether they’re teachers, healers, or both.
They will really annoy you sometimes. You’ll argue with them. They don’t care about fairness. They care about alignment.
You’ll have a temper tantrum when you can’t channel the entire nature of reality in the first month. (you don’t really even learn patience that well, sorry)
The guides you work with will start to feel like a natural extension of yourself. The more you channel, the more you’ll recognise your own true nature.
You’ll have experiences that blow your mind and dismantle everything you thought you knew.
You’ll feel love flowing through you towards people you really don’t like — and you won’t mind one bit.
Your life will get really weird, really fast — but only if you want it to. You can always say no.
You won’t know how to live all the insight you receive. Sometimes you’ll be brutally self-critical about that.
You’ll discover one of the most intimate and beautiful relationships of your life.
The biggest gift…..
Your guides will show up to heal you, unbidden. They’ll hold you energetically in your darkest moments. You can choose to feel alone — but you never actually are.
Saying yes to Aurora will turn out to be one of the greatest gifts you ever gave yourself.
You will feel deeply loved. You will learn what unconditional relationship feels like.
And yes — that will quietly heal your attachment wounds.
Love, Your future self
It’s Wilde ride, your surname was well chosen 😉
If this is a lifestyle you think you’d enjoy (cos it can be a lifestyle) there are two ways I can support you in this.
If you like the privacy and spaciousness of self-study, I have a channeling course you can move through in your own time.
If you want one-to-one support while you learn — somewhere to bring your experiences, questions, doubts, and edges — I have the mentorship package.
Channeling doesn’t have to be learned alone. In fact, it often benefits from more support, not less.
